Default Steam - 1€ = 1$ ;d

So, any Europeans noticed something different about Steampowered.com? Something like... all prices that were in $ are now in € and all but few cost the same amount of money, but in different currencies?

If you don't look at current Holiday Sale, Europeans have to pay at least 25% more than US/UK people.

For example, CoD 4.

49,99 US$ = 49,99 € at Steam, but:
49,99 US$ = 34,72 €
49,99 € = 71,970603 US$
Difference: ~ 15 € Euro

More about it here:

Careful what you say about this on Steam forums, mods already banned Stranded, the administrator of 1€ ≠ 1$ group.

As for me, Bioshock was the last game I bought at Steam until they lower the prices. And I only bought it because it's 5€ instead of normal 20€ or 20$.

They probably do this cause the currency exchange fluctuates so often, that and the industries don't want to bring in politics to this. But this can be said to almost every single game that has been released.

What you can do is ask an American friend to buy it for you and give it as a "gift" through Steam.

I don't trust Americans.

Especially since the only relatives in USA I have and are non-American is my aunt, and she wouldn't even know how to set up Steam or how to buy the game.

edit: Forgot to mention, UK has lower prices than EU...
